I am a highly sought-after professional genealogist based in Chandler, Arizona. As a native Scot, I deal mostly, but not exclusively, with Americans who want to trace their Scottish heritage. My work is thorough and meticulous, and I leave no stone unturned while carrying out research.

Journalism
For more than four decades I have worked as a journalist, writer and more recently author. I am an award-winning, international journalist and my work has appeared in a diverse range of publications including newspapers, magazines, websites and blogs. I am personable and friendly, and a highly motivated media professional.

What I can offer:
Writing. As a writer and reporter of the highest quality, my articles have featured in every national newspaper in the UK. Specialist subjects include environment, military, history and politics.

Proofreading. Over the years I have held a number of senior newspaper jobs that have involved intensive fact checking, proofreading and editing of copy.

Researching. I have spent long hours engaged in detailed and technical research for story purposes and I am accomplished at unearthing material that is relevant and interesting.
Leisure interests:
I believe it is important to make best use of free time. My leisure pursuits include bird watching – a passion for more than 30 years – and enjoying the countryside.
I love to travel and discover the history, heritage and culture of the world around me, in particular anything that relates to Scotland. I am a keen fan of sport, especially football, both soccer and the American version, cricket and golf.
As a proud Scot, I am an aficionado of Robert Burns and enjoy socializing, meeting new and engaging people, a good craft beer and a fine malt whisky.

We may be related. My great-great grandfather was James Lundy from Glasgow, who emigrated to the US. And his line became artists, writers, inventors. His son James became an engineer for the Chicago fire department when fire engines were run by steam. His grandson George became a political cartoonist for the Chicago Tribune, and my father George was an artist, writer, philosopher, whose son, my brother, became a Jesuit and ended our Lundy line. My sisters are publishing poets. And I’ve been a working writer my whole life. A recent DNA test confirmed a connection to Glasgow, and my dad’s contention that his ancestors were ‘scoundrels who had the good sense to marry Irish women straight off the boat.’
